Galvanized Steel
OVERVIEW
Galvanized Steel
During the galvanizing process, zinc reacts with steel and forms zinc-iron alloy layers, which are then metallurgically bonded to the base steel. Krimeesha Steel’s galvanized steel is corrosion resistant, eco-friendly, durable and high-strength. In addition to providing an impervious barrier to the steel, the relatively pure zinc layer on its outer surface also prevents moisture from entering it, which in turn prevents corrosion and moisture from reaching it.
A galvanized sheet is also extremely resistant to abrasion and adhesion. The zinc coating protects steel galvanically when it is exposed to cuts, edges, or scratches. Zinc’s electronegative properties, compared to steel in the galvanic series, make it possible for zinc to protect base steel from corrosion when exposed to cuts, edges or scratches.
Key Features
- A wide range of thicknesses for a variety of applications
- A wide range of grades are available, including commercial, forming, drawing, and structural grades
- Personalized hardness is achieved through continuous annealing on the galvanizing line
- In addition to providing perfect zinc coating on the strips, computer-controlled processes also prolong the product's life and prevent rusting
- We make different finishes on the sheets, such as bright, dull, or matte as per the customer's preference, that can be regular, minimal, or none at all. Galvanized Plain Coil (GP Coil) is steel that has an extra layer of zinc on it, ranging from 90 to 600 gsm.
